Possible Causes
Cooling fan failure, Blocked ventilation grilles, Excessive ambient temperature in cabinet, Dust buildup on heat sinks
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before accessing the underside.
- Check fan operation: Restore power and run the hob at medium power. Listen for the fan. If silent, the fan or its supply is faulty.
- Clean ventilation: Remove dust from intake and exhaust vents and from the fan and heat sinks using a vacuum and soft brush.
- Verify cabinet airflow: Ensure there is an opening at the rear or base of the cabinet as specified by De Dietrich. Remove any stored items blocking airflow.
Repair: Replace the cooling fan if it does not run. Persistent E5 with a working fan may indicate failing power modules.
