Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main board, Faulty touch control glass assembly, Moisture ingress on control PCB, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before removing the hob or control panel.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes F04 clears after a full reset.
- Dry the surface: Wipe the glass control area thoroughly. Spilled liquids or condensation can cause false touches and communication errors. Leave the hob unused for several hours to dry internally if a large spill occurred.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the hob and carefully open the control area. Locate the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main control board. Reseat both ends, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
- Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage or corrosion on the control PCB. If present, the touch control assembly or main board may need replacement.
Note: If F04 appears immediately on power-up and cabling is secure, replacement of the touch control module or main control board is usually required.
