Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Dirty or cracked ignition electrode, Weak spark at that burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the gas supply to the cooktop before cleaning burners. Ensure all knobs are in the OFF position.
- Remove burner parts: Lift off the burner cap and burner head from the affected burner.
- Clean ports: Use a soft brush or a wooden toothpick to clear any food debris or grease from the gas ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Clean electrode: Wipe the ignition electrode with a damp cloth and then dry. Check for cracks in the ceramic insulator.
- Reassemble correctly: Ensure the burner head and cap are properly seated and centered. Misalignment can prevent gas from reaching the spark.
- Test ignition: Restore gas and power, then test. If the spark is weak or absent only on this burner, the electrode or its wiring may need replacement.
