Possible Causes
Tripped thermal cut-out (safety thermostat), Faulty main oven selector switch, Open circuit in power supply to elements, Failed main control board relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing panels. Elements and wiring can remain hot after use.
- Check settings: Ensure a valid cooking function and temperature are selected and that the timer is not set to delay start or end time.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Remove the rear panel and locate the high-limit thermostat (usually a small round device with two terminals). Some have a manual reset button; press it if present.
- Test selector switch: On models with a mechanical function selector, test continuity across the switch contacts for the selected mode. Replace if open when it should be closed.
- Check wiring: Inspect wiring from the terminal block to the elements and control board for burns or breaks.
- Control board: If power reaches the board but not the elements, the heating relay may be faulty and the board should be replaced by a technician.
