Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Faulty main electronic control board, Cooling fan not running causing overheating near sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.
- Visual inspection: Check inside the oven cavity for foil covering the sensor or vents, or oversized trays blocking airflow. Remove anything that may trap heat.
- Check cooling fan operation: Restore power briefly and start a low-temperature bake. Listen for the internal cooling fan (behind the control panel). If it does not run, switch power off again and inspect the fan motor and wiring from the rear.
- Test the sensor: With power off, access the oven temperature sensor as described for F01. Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to specification. A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) suggests a shorted sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Look for melted insulation or wires touching the metal chassis, especially near the sensor and along the rear panel.
- Replace components: Replace a shorted sensor or damaged wiring harness. If the sensor and wiring are correct but F02 recurs, the main control board temperature input circuit may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
