How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker for at least 5 minutes before touching the appliance.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 10–15 minutes to fully discharge the control board. Restore power and check if F04 clears.
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the range is connected to the correct mains voltage and that there are no frequent brownouts or surges. Use a surge protector if necessary.
- Inspect control connections: With power off, remove the control panel (usually held by screws behind the front trim). Inspect the ribbon cable and connectors between the display module and the main power board. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Look for damage: Check the control board for burn marks, swollen capacitors, or signs of moisture ingress.
- Replace control board: If F04 returns immediately after reset and connections are sound, the main electronic control board is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct DeLonghi part. This involves transferring wiring harnesses one by one to the new board to avoid miswiring.
