Gas oven will not ignite, display shows F06 after several failed ignition attempts.

Safety first: Turn off gas at the shutoff valve and disconnect electrical power. If you smell strong gas, ventilate the area immediately and do not use open flames or switches.

• Verify gas supply: Ensure the main gas valve to the appliance is open and that other gas appliances in the home are working.
• Observe ignition (if safe): Restore power and gas, then start the oven. Look through the oven window or access hole to see if the igniter glows (for glow-bar type) or sparks (for spark ignition). Turn everything off again after the test.
• Check igniter: For glow-bar igniters, a weak orange glow that never lights the burner indicates a worn igniter. For spark systems, no spark or erratic spark suggests a bad electrode or ignition module.
• Inspect wiring and electrode: With power off, inspect the igniter wiring for cracks or burns. Clean the spark electrode tip with fine sandpaper and ensure the gap to the burner is correct and free of grease.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace a weak glow-bar igniter or damaged spark electrode with a DeLonghi-compatible part. If the igniter is good but there is no gas flow, the gas safety valve or ignition module may be defective and should be tested and replaced by a qualified gas technician.
