Possible Causes
Clogged burner caps or ports, Faulty spark igniter electrode at burner, Defective ignition generator (spark module), Moisture or spills causing short at igniter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply and disconnect power. Ensure the cooktop is cool before disassembly.
- Clean burner components: Remove burner caps and heads. Clean all gas ports with a soft brush or wooden toothpick. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Dry moisture: If the problem started after a spill or cleaning, thoroughly dry the burner area and igniters with a cloth. Allow several hours of air-drying or use gentle warm air (not open flame).
- Inspect igniters: Check each spark electrode for cracks, heavy carbon buildup, or loose mounting. Clean the ceramic and metal tip with a non-abrasive pad.
- Test spark: Restore power (gas still off) and turn each knob to ignite. Observe whether each electrode produces a strong, regular spark. If one burner does not spark, its electrode or wiring is suspect; if none spark, the ignition generator may be faulty.
- Replace components: Replace any cracked or non-sparking electrode. If no burners spark and wiring is intact, replace the DeLonghi ignition generator (spark module). Reassemble burners carefully, ensuring correct alignment of caps and heads.
