Possible Causes
Failed oven temperature sensor reading too low, Stuck closed oven relay on control board, Blocked cooling vents around control panel, Faulty high-limit thermostat (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the oven and allow it to cool. Do not continue using the oven if it overheats.
- Check temperature sensor: Test the oven sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Etna specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect control vents: Ensure the control panel vents are not blocked by foil, covers, or grease buildup.
- Observe heating behavior: If the oven continues heating even when turned off, the relay on the control board may be welded closed and the board must be replaced.
- High-limit thermostat: Some models have a resettable safety thermostat on the rear. If tripped, reset according to the service manual; if it trips repeatedly, investigate airflow and control issues.
