Possible Causes
Wet ignition switch from spills or cleaning, Stuck or shorted burner switch, Faulty spark module sensing circuit, Damaged wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off all burners. Unplug the cooktop or switch off the breaker before inspection.
- Dry the cooktop: If the issue started after a spill or cleaning, allow the cooktop to dry for 24 hours. Use gentle airflow under the unit if possible.
- Test each knob: Turn each burner knob on and off. If clicking stops when a specific knob is moved, that switch may be stuck.
- Access switches: Remove the top panel and inspect the small ignition switches mounted on the valve stems. Look for corrosion or moisture.
- Replace faulty switch: If one switch shows signs of damage or remains closed (shorted) when the knob is off, replace that ignition switch.
- Module check: If all switches are good but clicking persists, the spark module may be defective and require replacement.
