Possible Causes
Open or shorted oven temperature sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty electronic oven control (EOC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the range from mains (unplug or switch off breaker) before removing panels.
- Locate sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the temperature sensor probe (usually a thin metal rod at the back wall).
- Check connections: Remove the rear panel of the range and verify the sensor connector is firmly attached to the control board harness.
- Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure the sensor resistance at room temperature (commonly around 1000–1100 Ω; check Fagor specs). An open circuit or very low reading indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace sensor if faulty: Unscrew the sensor from inside the cavity, gently pull it out, transfer the connector, and install the new sensor.
- If sensor tests good: The electronic oven control board may be defective and require replacement.
