Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Stuck relay on control board, Faulty electronic oven control, Poor airflow around oven
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven immediately and disconnect power. Overheating can be a fire hazard.
- Allow cooling: Leave the door open and let the oven cool completely before working on it.
- Check sensor: Test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect control board: Remove the back panel and inspect the oven control board for stuck or welded relay contacts (burn marks near bake/broil relays).
- Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is good, replace the electronic oven control board, as it may be driving the elements continuously.
