Possible Causes
Wet or dirty spark electrode, Faulty ignition switch on knob, Stuck ignition module relay, Moisture around burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all knobs to OFF. Disconnect power to the cooktop before cleaning around electrodes.
- Dry the area: If there has been a spill, remove burner caps and heads and dry the area thoroughly with a cloth. Allow several hours for moisture to evaporate.
- Clean electrodes: Gently clean the ceramic and metal tip of each electrode with a soft brush and a bit of alcohol to remove grease.
- Check knobs: Ensure knobs return fully to the OFF position. A stuck ignition switch can keep the module energized.
- Test operation: Restore power and test each burner. If clicking continues, the ignition switch harness or spark module may be faulty and require replacement.
