Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the oven is overheating, switch off power at the mains immediately. Do not open the door until temperatures have dropped to avoid a blast of hot air.
- Test sensor: After cooling and disconnecting power, check the oven sensor resistance at room temperature. Replace if out of specification.
- Check element operation: With power restored, observe whether elements heat even when the oven is off. If so, disconnect power and inspect the EOC for welded relays or shorted components.
- Replace EOC: If a relay is stuck closed or the board shows heat damage, replace the EOC. Transfer each wire one at a time to avoid miswiring.
Do not continue using the oven with a known runaway temperature condition; this is a serious fire hazard.
