Possible Causes

Failed oven temperature sensor reading low resistance, Stuck or welded oven relay on EOC, Faulty cooling fan not running, Blocked oven ventilation around Falcon range

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off power at the cooker isolator or breaker. Allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the range as per Falcon installation manual. Remove any items blocking rear or top vents.
  • Verify cooling fan operation (if equipped):
    • Restore power and start a bake cycle.
    • Listen for the internal cooling fan behind the control panel. If it does not run, turn power off and inspect the fan motor and wiring.
  • Test oven sensor: Remove and measure the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. If it reads significantly lower than spec (e.g., under 900 Ω at 20°C), it will cause the oven to overheat; replace it.
  • Inspect control board relays: With power disconnected, remove the control panel and inspect the EOC for burnt or welded relay contacts. If the bake or grill relay appears damaged or the oven heats with no call for heat, replace the EOC.

If F2 recurs after sensor replacement and ventilation checks, contact a qualified Falcon service technician to evaluate the control system.
