Possible Causes
Failed spark generator (ignition module), Broken or contaminated spark electrode, Loose electrode wiring, Faulty ignition switch in burner control knob
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect power before servicing. Ensure the area is well ventilated.
- Check for spark: With power on and gas off, turn a burner knob to ignite and observe if any electrodes spark. If none spark, suspect the ignition module.
- Inspect electrodes: Remove burner caps and heads. Clean electrodes with a non-abrasive pad to remove grease and carbon. Ensure the ceramic insulator is not cracked.
- Check wiring: Verify that each electrode lead is firmly connected to the spark generator and not damaged.
- Test ignition switches: Under the control panel, inspect the small switches attached to the burner valves. If a particular knob does not trigger sparking, its switch may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Replace spark generator: If all switches are working but no spark is produced, replace the ignition module with a compatible Falcon part.
Never use open flames (matches, lighters) to test gas flow while the ignition system is under repair.
