Hob Burner Ignition Failure
One or more gas hob burners will not ignite; you can light them with a match but not with the built-in igniter.

Possible Causes
Dirty burner caps and ports, Worn or cracked spark electrode, Faulty ignition switch on that burner knob, Loose electrode wire
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas and power before cleaning or removing parts.
- Clean thoroughly: Remove burner caps and heads. Soak in warm soapy water, then clear ports with a toothpick. Dry completely.
- Check electrode: Inspect for cracks or heavy buildup. Replace if damaged.
- Test ignition switch: With power off, access the switches behind the control knobs. Use a multimeter to check that the switch closes when the knob is turned to ignite.
Do not use metal tools that can enlarge burner ports; this will affect flame quality.
