Possible Causes

Broken oven temperature sensor probe, Disconnected or loose sensor harness, Damaged wiring between sensor and control, Faulty sensor connector at control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power at the breaker before removing any panels.

  • Access the sensor: Inside the oven, locate the sensor probe at the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector (on some models the connector is behind the rear panel).
  • Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is firmly connected and not burnt or corroded. Reseat the connector.
  • Continuity test: With the sensor unplugged, use a multimeter to check resistance across the sensor pins. An open (infinite) reading indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced.
  • Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness back to the control board. Look for cuts, pinched sections, or signs of overheating. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Control board: If sensor and wiring are intact but F3 persists, the input circuit on the control board may be defective and require replacement.
