Possible Causes

Blocked cooling fan or vents, Failed induction cooling fan, Excessive ambient temperature under cooktop, Thermal sensor fault on power board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool. Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the cooktop per Fisher & Paykel installation instructions. Remove any stored items blocking airflow.
  • Clean vents: Vacuum dust from intake and exhaust vents. Do not allow liquids to enter the unit.
  • Listen for fan: When zones are active, you should hear the internal cooling fan. If not, the fan may be faulty.
  • Access fan (qualified persons): Remove the cooktop from the bench and open the lower cover to access the cooling fan. Check that it spins freely and is not obstructed.
  • Replace fan: If the fan does not run when power is applied, replace the induction cooling fan assembly.
