Possible Causes

Failed spark generator (ignition module), Shorted ignition switch on control knob, Moisture in ignition system, Damaged spark electrode wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect power before servicing. Ensure area is well ventilated.

  • Dry out: If the error occurred after a spill or cleaning, unplug the cooktop and allow it to dry for 24 hours. Moisture can cause continuous sparking and module errors.
  • Check electrodes: Inspect each burner spark electrode for cracks, heavy grease, or misalignment. Clean with a non-abrasive pad and ensure the tip is close to the burner cap.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the ignition wires from the module to each electrode for burns or cuts. Reseat connections.
  • Test ignition: Restore power and gas. Turn each knob to ignite. If no burners spark and F60 remains, the ignition module is likely faulty.
  • Replace ignition module: Access the underside of the cooktop, locate the spark generator, and replace it with the correct Fisher & Paykel ignition module.
