Possible Causes
Loose UI ribbon cable, Failed user interface board, Control board communication error, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any control panel components.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test controls.
- Inspect connections: Remove the control panel fascia and locate the ribbon cable between the user interface (touch panel) and the main control board. Reseat both ends carefully.
- Check for damage: Look for kinks, cracks, or burn marks on the ribbon cable and boards.
- Replace UI board: If reseating does not help and the display or keys remain erratic, replace the user interface board or touch panel assembly.
- Control board: If a new UI does not restore communication, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
