Possible Causes

Failed ignition spark module, No power to cooktop, Faulty burner valve ignition switch, Broken ignition wire to electrode

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas at the shutoff valve and disconnect power before inspection.

  • Check power: Verify that the outlet or hardwired circuit supplying the cooktop has power. Reset any tripped breaker.
  • Test other burners: If none of the burners spark, suspect the ignition module or power supply. If some spark and others do not, suspect individual switches or wiring.
  • Inspect ignition switches: Remove the knobs and check that the small switches under each valve are intact and wired correctly.
  • Check wiring: From underneath, inspect the ignition wires from the module to each electrode for breaks or burns. Reseat connections.
  • Replace ignition module: If power is present and switches are working but there is no spark on any burner, replace the Fisher & Paykel ignition spark module.
