Oven beeps and displays F10; oven may overheat or shut down during bake or broil
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the range off at the control panel and disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. Allow the oven to cool completely.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker off for 5 minutes, then restore power and test. If F10 returns quickly, continue below.
- Check oven temperature sensor (RTD):
- Locate the sensor probe inside the oven cavity (usually back wall, upper area).
- Remove the two mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature (~70°F/21°C). A typical Frigidaire sensor should read about 1050–1100 Ω.
- If reading is far outside this range (open or shorted), replace the oven temperature sensor.
- Inspect wiring harness:
- Check the sensor harness from the cavity to the main control for burns, cuts, or loose connections.
- Reseat connectors firmly on the EOC (electronic oven control) board.
- Control board check:
- If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the EOC may have a stuck relay or failed temperature circuit.
- Remove the back panel, photograph wire locations, and inspect the control board for burnt spots.
- If damaged or if F10 persists with a known-good sensor, replace the electronic oven control board.
Warning: If the oven is overheating uncontrollably, leave power off and do not use the appliance until repaired.
