Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Ensure the oven is cool before working near the door lock.
- Check for mechanical jam:
- Inspect the door latch area for bent metal, debris, or misalignment.
- Gently move the latch with a screwdriver (with power off) to see if it is stuck.
- Access lock motor:
- Remove the rear panel or top panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor assembly.
- Inspect the lock motor, linkage, and switches.
- Test lock motor and switches:
- With a multimeter, check continuity of the lock motor coil and the lock/unlock switches according to the wiring diagram.
- If the motor is open or the switches do not change state when actuated, replace the door lock motor assembly.
- Inspect wiring:
- Check harness from lock assembly to EOC for damage or loose connectors.
- Control board:
- If the lock assembly tests good and wiring is intact, the EOC may not be driving the lock; replace the electronic oven control board.
Note: To manually unlock a stuck door, consult the service manual for your specific Frigidaire Professional model; many have a manual release accessible from the top or rear.
