Possible Causes

Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan relay on EOC, Loose wiring to fan motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Internal metal parts may be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.

  • Check for airflow blockage:
    • Inspect front and rear vents for grease, dust, or obstructions.
    • Clean vents thoroughly.
  • Test cooling fan:
    • Access the cooling fan (usually behind the rear panel or under the cooktop).
    • Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely.
    • Check for 120 VAC at the fan motor when the oven is hot or in a high-temperature mode (only if you are qualified to work on live circuits).
    • If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the oven cooling fan motor.
  • Inspect wiring and relay:
    • Check harness connections between the fan and EOC.
    • If no voltage is sent to a good fan, the fan relay on the EOC may be faulty; replace the electronic oven control board.
