Possible Causes
Weak bake igniter, No gas supply or closed gas shutoff, Faulty gas safety valve, Clogged burner ports
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply and power before disassembly. If you smell strong gas, ventilate the area and do not operate electrical switches; contact your gas supplier.
- Verify gas supply:
- Ensure the manual gas shutoff valve to the range is fully open.
- Inspect igniter:
- Remove the oven bottom panel to view the bake burner and igniter.
- Turn on bake and observe (with panels in place and power on). A healthy Frigidaire Professional igniter should glow bright orange and light the burner within 30–60 seconds.
- If it glows weakly or never lights the burner, replace the bake igniter.
- Check burner ports:
- Clean any debris or spills from burner holes with a soft brush.
- Gas valve:
- If a new igniter glows but the burner still does not light, the oven gas safety valve may be faulty and should be replaced.
