Oven light will not turn off even when door is closed

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing the switch or control.

• Check door switch:
  • Locate the door switch (usually in the front frame).
  • Press it by hand; it should click.
  • Test for continuity; it should change state when pressed.
  • Replace the oven door switch if it is stuck or does not change state.
• Inspect door alignment:
  • Ensure the door fully depresses the switch when closed; adjust hinges if needed.
• Control board:
  • If the switch is good but the light stays on, the light relay on the EOC may be stuck; replace the electronic oven control board.
