Possible Causes
Failed bake element, Failed broil element, Open thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Faulty electronic oven control (EOC) relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing elements or internal wiring.
- Check elements visually:
- Inspect the bake element (bottom) and broil element (top) for breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- Test elements:
- Remove rear panel or element mounting screws to access terminals.
- Disconnect wires and measure resistance; typical Frigidaire elements read 10–40 Ω. Replace any open element.
- Check thermal fuse / high-limit:
- Locate the oven thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat on the rear oven wall or top.
- Test for continuity; replace if open.
- Control board: If elements and fuses are good, the EOC may not be sending power to the elements; replace the electronic oven control.
