How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker before removing any panels.
- Reset power: Turn breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. If F14 returns, proceed.
- Access keypad ribbon:
- Remove screws securing the control panel or backguard.
- Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad/touch panel to the EOC.
- Clean and reseat:
- Gently disconnect the ribbon cable.
- Use a soft, dry cloth or electronics contact cleaner (sparingly) to clean the contacts.
- Reconnect firmly, ensuring it is fully seated and straight.
- Inspect for damage:
- Check the ribbon for cracks or kinks and the keypad surface for physical damage.
- Replace faulty component:
- If reseating does not clear F14, replace the keypad/touch panel assembly. If the keypad is integrated, replace the entire control panel/EOC assembly.
