Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Open fan wiring harness, Faulty fan relay on EOC, Obstruction preventing fan from turning
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Internal metal edges can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.
- Locate cooling fan: Typically behind the rear panel or under the cooktop, depending on model.
- Check for obstruction:
- Spin the fan blade by hand (with power OFF). It should turn freely without scraping.
- Remove any debris or insulation blocking the fan.
- Test fan motor:
- Disconnect the fan motor connector.
- Measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open reading indicates a bad motor.
- If accessible and safe, you can apply proper line voltage briefly (following service manual) to confirm operation. Only do this if you are qualified.
- Inspect wiring and relay:
- Check harness from fan to EOC for burns or breaks.
- If motor and wiring are good, the fan relay on the EOC may have failed; replace the electronic oven control.
