Possible Causes
Incorrect line voltage (missing L2 or neutral), Miswired power cord, Faulty relay board or EOC, Loose power connections at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This involves live power. If you are not experienced with 240V circuits, contact a qualified technician. Always turn power OFF at the breaker before opening any panels.
- Verify power supply:
- Turn breaker OFF, remove rear access cover to the terminal block.
- Inspect for burnt wires or loose screws at the terminal block.
- Tighten loose connections and replace any burnt wiring.
- Check cord installation:
- Confirm that the 3- or 4-wire power cord is connected according to the Frigidaire installation diagram (usually on the back panel).
- Correct any miswiring.
- Measure voltage (qualified persons only):
- With power ON, verify 240V between L1 and L2, and ~120V from each leg to neutral (if present).
- Control/relay board: If supply is correct and F40 persists, the relay board or EOC may be defective and should be replaced.
