Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Wet or dirty igniter electrode, Failed spark module, Broken igniter wire, No gas supply to burner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply if you smell gas. Disconnect power before accessing ignition components.
- Clean burner head:
- Remove burner cap and head.
- Clean burner ports with a soft brush or toothpick; do not enlarge holes.
- Dry igniter:
- If the burner was recently cleaned, moisture may be on the igniter. Let it dry or gently dry with a hair dryer (cool setting).
- Check spark:
- Restore power and turn the knob to ignite; look for spark at the electrode.
- If no spark at any burner, suspect the spark module. If only one burner lacks spark, inspect that burner’s igniter and wire.
- Gas flow:
- Ensure the burner valve is opening and gas is present (you may smell a faint gas odor if igniter is not sparking).
