Oven or cooktop is leaking heat and the sides or control panel feel excessively hot.

Safety first: Turn off oven and allow to cool before inspection.

• Inspect gasket:
  • Check the entire perimeter of the oven door gasket for gaps, tears, or flattened sections.
  • Replace the oven door gasket if damaged.
• Check door alignment:
  • Ensure the door closes evenly and latches firmly.
  • Adjust or replace hinges if the door is sagging.
• Internal insulation:
  • If a section of the cabinet is extremely hot, internal insulation may be displaced; this requires removing the range from its location and opening the cabinet to inspect and reposition or replace insulation.
