Possible Causes
Non-induction-compatible cookware, Pan too small for the zone, Warped or uneven pan bottom, Faulty induction coil sensor on the power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: This troubleshooting is external only. Do not remove the glass or open the cooktop while energized.
- Test with known good pan: Use a flat, heavy-bottomed stainless steel or cast iron pan that a magnet sticks to firmly. Center it on the affected zone.
- Check pan size: Ensure the pan diameter matches or slightly exceeds the inner ring of the cooking zone. Very small pans can trigger E1.
- Check pan contact: Avoid warped or rounded-bottom pans. The base must sit flat on the glass.
- Try another zone: If the same pan works on other zones but not on one specific zone, the issue may be with that zone’s induction coil or sensor.
- Power reset: Turn the cooktop off at the breaker for 2–3 minutes and retest.
- If only one zone always shows E1 with good cookware: A technician should test the induction coil and power module for that zone and replace as needed.
