Possible Causes
Open or shorted induction coil, Failed IGBT or power transistor on module, Burned wiring between coil and module, Internal power module failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: High voltages and stored energy are present in induction modules. Only trained persons should service internal components. Disconnect power at the breaker and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge.
- Visual inspection (technician): Remove the cooktop and bottom cover. Inspect the induction coil and wiring for burn marks, broken litz wire, or melted insulation.
- Check connectors: Ensure coil connectors are fully seated on the power module and show no signs of overheating.
- Measure coil resistance: Using a meter, compare coil resistance to a known-good zone. A significantly different reading indicates a faulty coil.
- Module inspection: Inspect the power module for cracked components, burnt areas, or bulging capacitors.
- Replace defective parts: Replace the induction coil if open/shorted. If the coil is good, replace the induction power module for that zone group.
