Possible Causes
Loose harness between touch control and power module, Firmware mismatch after module replacement, Faulty user interface board, Defective power module communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the cooktop or opening any covers.
- Power cycle: Turn off the cooktop at the breaker for 5–10 minutes to reset the electronics. Restore power and test.
- Check for recent repairs: If a module was recently replaced, E8 may indicate that coding or configuration was not completed. A Gaggenau technician must program the new module.
- Inspect wiring (technician): Remove the cooktop and access the user interface PCB and power module. Check the ribbon cable or harness for secure connections and no visible damage.
- Replace faulty board: If wiring is intact, replace the user interface control board. If E8 persists, replace the power module and perform required configuration.
