Possible Causes
Broken oven temperature sensor, Disconnected or loose sensor connector, Cut or broken sensor wiring harness, Faulty sensor input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the rear or interior of the oven.
- Access sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor inside the cavity (usually on rear wall). Remove its mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
- Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated and not corroded.
- Test resistance: With the sensor disconnected, measure its resistance at room temperature and compare to Gaggenau specifications. An infinite reading indicates an open sensor.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness back to the control board for breaks or loose connections.
- Replace faulty part: Replace the oven temperature sensor if open. If wiring and sensor are good, replace the electronic oven control.
