Possible Causes

Shorted temperature sensor, Sensor wires shorted together or to chassis, Moisture in sensor connector, Faulty control board sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing panels or testing components.

  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Access the oven temperature sensor from inside the cavity and at the rear. Look for pinched or melted wires.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A very low reading (near 0Ω) indicates a shorted sensor.
  • Check harness: If the sensor is normal, inspect the harness for spots where insulation is damaged and wires touch each other or metal.
  • Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture, dry the connector thoroughly and allow 24 hours before retesting.
  • Replace components: Replace the oven temperature sensor or harness if shorted. If wiring and sensor are good, replace the electronic oven control.
