Gaggenau oven or range shows F5, may not start self-clean or bake

• Listen for lock motor: When starting self-clean, listen for the door lock motor. No sound may indicate a failed motor or no power.
• Access lock assembly (technician): Remove the top panel or front trim (per Gaggenau manual) to access the door lock/latch assembly.
• Inspect and test: Check for broken plastic parts, bent latch, or disconnected rods. Test the lock motor and latch switches for continuity.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the door lock motor assembly or latch switch as needed. Verify wiring back to the control board.
