Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad matrix, Failed key input circuit on EOC, Moisture or contamination behind glass touch panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Dry out panel: If the error started after cleaning the control panel, leave power off for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel and inspect the flat ribbon cable for cracks, burns, or corrosion. Reseat it firmly.
- Keypad vs. board test: With the keypad ribbon disconnected from the EOC, restore power briefly:
- If F7 disappears, replace the keypad/touch panel.
- If F7 persists with keypad disconnected, replace the EOC.
- Replace assembly: Many GE Profile models use a combined glass touch panel and control; replace as a unit if the membrane is not separate.
