Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Faulty door lock switch, Misaligned door latch mechanism, Wiring issue between lock assembly and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before attempting to manually unlock the door or service the lock assembly.
- Cancel self-clean: If in self-clean, press Cancel/Off and wait for the oven to cool fully. The lock should attempt to cycle.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Inspect the door latch area for bent metal, grease buildup, or foreign objects preventing full latch movement.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the rear panel or top panel (depending on model) to reach the door lock motor and switches.
- Test lock motor: With power disconnected, check continuity of the lock motor coil and lock switches using a multimeter. Replace the lock assembly if open or if switches do not change state when manually actuated.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or broken wires between the lock assembly and EOC. Repair as needed.
- Manual unlock (if needed): With power off, use a flat-blade screwdriver to gently move the lock lever on the lock assembly to release the door.
