Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Melted sensor harness insulation, Failed control board input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before inspection.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the oven sensor as for F3. Look for melted insulation, bare wires touching metal, or signs of overheating.
- Resistance test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor; replace it.
- Check harness to board: With sensor disconnected, measure resistance from each sensor wire to chassis ground. Any continuity indicates a short in the harness; repair or replace the harness.
- Control board: If sensor and harness are good but F4 persists, the EOC sensor input may be shorted internally. Replace the control board.
- Verify operation: After replacement, run a bake cycle and confirm stable temperature.
