Possible Causes
Burnt-out hotplate element, Failed radiant element, Faulty infinite switch or energy regulator, Loose wiring at terminal block or control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before removing any panels. Electric elements operate at dangerous voltages.
- Test other zones: Check if other electric zones work. If only one is dead, suspect its element or control. If all are dead, suspect supply or main control.
- Access element: On cooktops, remove from the worktop and open the underside cover. On ranges, remove the top panel.
- Inspect wiring: Check for burnt or disconnected wires at the element and control switch.
- Continuity test: With a multimeter, test the suspect element for continuity. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check control switch: Test the infinite switch or energy regulator for continuity between terminals when turned on. Replace if open.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble, restore power, and test the zone.
