Possible Causes
Contacts welded closed inside control, Incorrect wiring of control, Knob shaft damage causing misalignment, Internal thermostat failure in dual-zone control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the affected zone and disconnect power before accessing controls.
- Do not use the zone: An overheating element is a fire hazard. Leave it off until repaired.
- Access control panel: Remove the front panel or top cover to reach the infinite switches or energy regulators.
- Visual inspection: Look for signs of overheating or melting on the suspect control.
- Continuity test: With the control in the OFF position, check for continuity between output and input terminals. There should be no continuity. If present, the contacts are stuck closed.
- Replace control: Install a new Glem Gas-compatible energy regulator or infinite switch, wiring it exactly as per the original or wiring diagram.
- Verify operation: After reassembly, test the zone at various settings to ensure proper cycling.
