Possible Causes
Overheated cooking zone due to empty pan, Blocked ventilation openings, Faulty temperature sensor on glass, Defective power module overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool. Surfaces and internal components may be extremely hot.
- Remove cookware: Take the pan off the affected zone and let the glass cool for at least 15–20 minutes.
- Check for blocked vents: Inspect the front and underside ventilation slots of the Glem Gas cooktop or range. Remove any obstructions (foil, liners, debris) that could restrict airflow.
- Avoid dry heating: Do not operate a zone on high power with an empty pan or with very little content; this can trigger E2.
- Inspect cooling fan (if fitted): On induction and some electric models, remove the lower cover to access the cooling fan. Ensure the fan spins freely and is not clogged with grease or dust. Replace the fan if seized or noisy.
- Sensor and module check: If E2 appears quickly even at low power and with good ventilation, the temperature sensor on the glass or the power module may be faulty. These parts require disassembly of the top and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
