Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked air intake or exhaust, Fan wiring harness disconnected, Overheated power module due to grease buildup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the appliance to cool completely before opening any covers.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under and around the cooktop as specified in the Glem Gas installation manual. Remove any stored items blocking airflow.
- Inspect cooling fan: Access the underside of the cooktop or the rear of the range to locate the cooling fan. Spin the fan blades by hand (with power off); they should move freely without scraping.
- Clean fan and ducts: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and grease from the fan and air channels.
- Check fan wiring: Confirm that the fan connector is firmly seated on the main control or power module.
- Replace fan if needed: If the fan is seized, noisy, or does not run when the cooktop is hot, replace the cooling fan assembly with a Glem Gas-compatible part.
- Persistent E5: If the fan is working and vents are clear but E5 remains, the temperature sensor or power module may be defective and should be checked by a professional.
