Possible Causes

Open-circuit glass temperature sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty analog input on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the appliance from mains power before removing any panels. Sensors are low voltage but are connected to live circuits.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes and restore. If E6 reappears immediately, proceed with inspection.
  • Locate sensor: Remove the cooktop from the counter or open the rear/top cover of the range. Identify the NTC sensor clipped to the underside of the glass or near the power module heatsink.
  • Check connections: Ensure the sensor plug is fully inserted into the main control or power module and that the wires are not pinched or cut.
  • Resistance test (advanced): With the sensor disconnected and the appliance still isolated, measure resistance with a multimeter. Typical NTC values are 50–200 kΩ at room temperature (refer to Glem Gas service data). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Replace sensor: If readings are out of range, replace the NTC temperature sensor with the correct Glem Gas spare.
  • Board fault: If a known-good sensor still gives E6, the main control board input may be defective and will need replacement.
