Possible Causes

Loose communication harness, Oxidized connector pins, Faulty user interface PCB, Defective power module microcontroller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power before accessing internal components.

  • Reset: Turn off power for at least 10 minutes, then restore. Sometimes transient communication errors clear after a reset.
  • Access electronics: Remove the cooktop from the worktop and open the underside cover to expose the user interface board and power module.
  • Check harness: Locate the low-voltage communication cable between the boards. Unplug and replug the connectors several times to clean contacts. Inspect for bent pins or corrosion.
  • Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of liquid ingress around the control area. Dry thoroughly and consider replacing affected boards if corrosion is present.
  • Board substitution: If wiring is intact and E7 persists, either the user interface PCB or the power module is faulty. Replacement and testing should be carried out by a qualified technician with access to Glem Gas parts.
