Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Broken door lock switch, Misaligned lock mechanism, Open or shorted lock wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. If the door is locked with food inside, do not force it open; wait for the oven to cool and then proceed.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top rear panel of the range to access the door lock motor and switches.
- Inspect mechanism: Check for bent linkages, obstructions, or signs of overheating around the lock.
- Check switches: Use a multimeter to test continuity of the lock and unlock position switches while manually moving the lock arm.
- Test motor: With power disconnected, measure the resistance of the lock motor coil. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the door lock motor assembly or individual switches as required. Ensure the lock arm moves freely and aligns with the door latch.
- Control board: If the lock assembly is good but F5 persists, the control board lock relay or driver may be faulty and require replacement.
