Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and control, Damaged keypad membrane, Faulty electronic oven control, Moisture ingress in control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the range from mains power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes and restore. If F6 reappears, proceed with inspection.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and locate the flat cable between the keypad and control board. Reseat both ends and check for cracks or corrosion.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of steam or liquid inside the control area. Dry thoroughly and improve sealing if necessary.
- Keypad test: If some keys do not respond or F6 appears when certain keys are pressed, the keypad is likely faulty and should be replaced.
- Replace control: If a known-good keypad still gives F6, replace the electronic oven control.
